SONGS OF IMPERMANENCE.

: Divine Providence

The theme of this piece is "Divine Providence"

The work was created using 8 different pieces of shell cordovan leather.
The area of a skin that can be turned into shell cordovan is very small and irregular and so the size of a piece that can actually be made into a product is even smaller.
For this work I used only pieces of shell cordovan that were insufficient size to be made into any product and attached them to a small canvas.

The canvas is uneven to reflect the size of the pieces of shell cordovan.
This work captures an image of the moment of unity when the well-balanced form of a spiral is captured and cut-out on the non-uniform canvas
